Mounting means that two different materials (in our case: a print on paper and a backboard) become attached to each other with the aid of a special glue. We use a form of double-sided mounting film adhesive which is acid free, passed the Photographic Activity Test (ISO 18916) and will not discolor with age.
There are different materials to choose from, depending on what you are aiming to do with the mounted print. One of the biggest advantages of a mounted print in general is that it will not bubble up and you get a smooth and even surface.
Wall installation
There are different types of fixtures for a wall installation. We usually recommend an aluminium subframe. This is the best and safest way to go, especially with larger formats. It also gives an extra of stability and makes the hanging quite easy. A suspension plate can also be used as a cheaper alternative.
